How to apply

Applications to all degree courses in the UK are handled by UCAS. Visit their website to find information on the available courses, to start the application procedure, and other useful information about the application process.

The deadline for applications to Oxford and Cambridge is 15 October, for all other universities the deadline is 15 January.

UCAS Extra and Clearing

If you have applied to universities through UCAS but haven’t been offered a place, or if you have declined all offers you have received, you can re-apply using the UCAS Extra service. Extra is open to students between February and June of each year to help them find a place on a course.

Clearing is a service open from July to September, although most students use it after receiving their exam results in August. Clearing can be used to help students without a university or college place to find vacancies on higher education courses.

To apply for a place on a chemical, biochemical or process engineering degree in Ireland, please visit the CAO website (Central Applications Office) where you'll find more information. Deadlines to keep in mind are:

1 February - Normal closing date
1 May - Late closing date
