What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My two young children.
Briefly, what does your typical day involve?
Meeting users and members of the advanced research network. Also managing operations and finances of the company.
What is the most interesting thing you have done today?
Spoken with the Canadian colleagues.
What is the most unusual thing you have done as part of your job?
Being in this role is in itself unexpected - it's a great experience to be responsible for establishing New Zealand's National Research & Education Network.
What is the most unlikely place your job has taken you?
The job has been mainly Wellington-based - but I am currently in an airport on the way to see some people in the UK that work for the UK’s network.
What has been the most rewarding moment in your career?
Probably quitting my job doing strategy consulting in London to make a lifestyle change in coming to New Zealand.
What is the one personal ambition you still want to achieve?
I have heaps of things I still want to achieve - the list grows longer as I get older!
When you are not at work what is your greatest pleasure?
Playing with my 11 month-old daughter and 2 year old son.
What would the casual observer not guess about you?
That I’m a CEO – I can be a bit scruffy…
What is your favourite holiday destination?
Christmas Day dip in a beach five minutes drive from Wellington.
